DAY 1 - COCHIN – MUNNAR

Arrival at Cochin Airport and Transfer from Cochin to Munnar by Road.  Munnar, the picturesque hill station in India is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallahtanni and Kundala.  Located 1800 m above sea level, this hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Governmnet in South India.  Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make thisdestination a popular resort town.  Among the exotic flora found in the forest and grassland here, is the Neelakurinji.  This flower which baths the hills in blue in every twelve years, will bloom next in 2018 AD.  Munnar also has the highest peak in south India”Anamudi”.       

DAY 2 -  MUNNAR

Full Day sightseeing at Munnar.  Places if Interest – Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, Tea Plantations, Indo-Swiss Project Farm, Water falls, Kundala Lake atc.  Overnight stay at resort.

DAY 3 -  MUNNAR – THEKKADY

Enjoy a drive through the spectacular country side to arrive the hill station of Thekkady – Periyar Tiger Reserve.  The very sound of the word “Thekkady” conjures up images of Elephants, unending chain of hills and spice scented plantations.  In the Periyar forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India.  Overnight stay at Tree House.                                                                             

DAY 4  - THEKKADY – KUMARAKOM

Check out from hotels and Proceed to Kumarakom.  On arrival check in to Hotels.  Evening you will be taken for sightseeing at Kumarakom.  Kumarakom is a renowned bird sanctuary on the banks of the Vembanad Lake, along the backwaters of Kerala. Backwaters are a unique web of lakes, lagoons, canals and rivers, which forms an integral part of Kerala's Tourism Scenario. Kumarakom is well known for its varied avian population. Migratory birds such as Siberian cranes can be seen during November to February. Local varieties such as waterfowls, cuckoos and owls are also found here. The Vembanad Lake with its majestic canals, streams and distributaries along its banks weave an intricate and enchantingly beautiful web.                       

Enjoy the House boat cruise.  It is an incredibly different experience to cruise in the backwaters in house boats (modified rice boat of the past), absorbing the beauty of Kerala village.   A journey through the curving and winding backwaters of Kerala is an experience of “back to nature”.                                                                                                                                           

DAY 5  -  KUMARAKOM – KOVALAM

Drive to Kovalam, about 15 Km from Thiruvananthapuram city.  An internationally renowned beach resort, Kovalam has been a favorite haunt of tourists for decades.  Kovalam consists of three crescent beaches formed by rocks projecting in to the Arabian Sea.  Rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 6  - KOVALAM (Kanyakumari day trip)- Optional Trip

After Breakfast proceed to Kanyakumari.  On the way to Kanyakumari you may visit, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Sucheendram temple.   At kanyakumari – Vivekananda rock, Thiruvalluvar statue, Kanyakumari devi temple, Gandhi memorial and Wax museum.  Evening after sunset back to Kovalam.  Over night stay at Kovalam. 

DAY 7  -  KOVALAM - COCHIN
