Jabalpur, is a city in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. Jabalpur is the administrative headquarters of Jabalpur district and Jabalpur division. Jabalpur is located in the Mahakaushal region in the geographic center of India. Jabalpur is one of the largest city of Madhya Pradesh. Jabalpur was the 27th largest urban conglomeration in India in 2001 (2001 Census). On a global scale, Jabalpur was the 325th largest city or urban area in the world in 2006 and Jabalpur it is estimated to be 294th largest city in the world by 2020. Jabalpur stands 121st in term of the fastest growing cities and urban areas in the world in 2006. Jabalpur is the first district in India which obtained the comprehensive ISO-9001 certificate. This has come into force from April 1, 2007
Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh enjoys a sub-tropical climate. The place is usually very hot in summers with May one of the hottest month of the year. Summers last from March up to June. One should definitely avoid visiting Jabalpur during summers. Summers are totally unbearable. Monsoon on the other hand is normal, which last towards October. But the best season in Jabalpur is winters, which usually start from November and last up to early March. Hence the best time to visit Jabalpur is during winter. But the climate is also pleasant during post monsoons. The area blossoms up with rains and offers picturesque view. Since Jabalpur is located amidst picturesque settings with several low rocky barren hillocks and Narmada River flowing within it. The monsoons add it up to the beauty.
So the ideal time to visit Jabalpur is from October to March, when the climate is pretty favorable and enjoyable.

Jabalpur railway station is located north of the Civil Lines Area. It is connected with all the metros and the major cities in India. It has direct trains to Satna (189 km, 3 hours), Varanasi (505 km, 13 hours) and Bhopal (336 km, 7½ hours).
How to reach Jabalpur by Road:
The main bus junction in Jabalpur is located west of Napier town. Jabalpur is on the National Highway 7 and is well connected by bus with Bhopal, which is about 8 hrs away, Indore, Satna, Raipur and Nagpur.There are regular government and private bus services to Bhopal.
