Asansol, a coal-mining-industrial-commercial centre , is the second largest city in West Bengal after Kolkata. It has over 1,000,000 residents. It is a subdivision located in Bardhaman District, in the western periphery of the state. It has a rich mineral resource-base, a committed and large work force, moderately high per capita income, a good number of educational establishments, good connectivity, a conspicuous industrial identity; several of housing complexes, and a vast land suitable for versatile industrial ventures, institutions, transport and commerce. Asansol By Air
The nearest airport is situated in the city of Kolkata and this is the most feasible option for travelers who are planning to arrive by air. The Kolkata Airport is an international airport and there are frequent flights from cities such as Bangkok, Frankfurt, Paro, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Singapore and Yangon. Asansol By Train
The Asansol railway station is on the Delhi to Howrah route and many trains from different parts of the country pass through the station. There are frequent trains from Delhi to Asansol and second class tickets cost around Rs 400. Auto rickshaws and taxis are available from the station to any part of the city.
Asansol By Bus
Government buses connect the town to most of the cities in the state and one can reach the place from Kolkata and Howrah. Tickets are affordable and these are frequent. Some private buses are also available.
