Delhi,and also by the official name National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), is the largest metropolis (by Area) in India and the second-largest metropolis (by Population) in India. More than 12.25 million nhabitants in city and with over 16.5 million residents Including NCR Region(Noida,Gurgaon,Faridabad Ghaziabad etc), it is the eighth largest metropolis in the world by population. The name Delhi is often also used to include some urban areas near the NCT, as well as to refer to New Delhi, the capital of India, which lies within the NCT. The NCT is a federally administered union territory. Delhi also houses Asia's largest planned residential colony, Dwarka Sub City. The National Capital Region (India) or commonly referred to as NCR in India is a name for the conurbation or metropolitan area which encompasses the entire National Capital Territory of Delhi as well as urban areas ringing it in neighbouring states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. With a total area of about 33,578 km2 (12,965 sq mi), it is the world's largest urban agglomeration. The cold wave from the Himalayan region makes winters very chilly. New Delhi is placed at an elevation of 215 meters. In addition to this, most of the festivals in New Delhi take place in the months of October to March, which adds to the beauty of the city.The best time to visit Delhi is during February and March, during the pleasant spring season when flowers are in bloom, and from August to November, after the monsoon rains have reduced the intensity of the summer heat.
